With over 30 years of collective experience in the local music industry, Steve Olson and Scott Ford are the brains behind the sound board. After knowing each other since high school, Steve and Scott decided to combine their knowledge of music and live sound and open a studio in 2016. The two have been constantly mistaken for each other throughout the Rockford community; it only made sense to name their studio "Evil Twin." They have recorded a multitude of genres in their time up and running. From rock music, to spoken word pieces, to recording live sound, there is nothing these two cannot do. Their personal experience as musicians gives them the empathy and determination to make sure you are thrilled with your final product. They are endlessly supportive of the people they work with, and they genuinely enjoy making your music aspirations become a reality. Steve's ability to keep up with the newest developments in recording and Scott's attention to detail make them the ultimate duo. You could not ask for a more positive experience!

Scott is known as a jack-of-all-trades in and around the Rockford area. A musician himself, Scott plays drums, guitar, bass guitar, upright bass, and piano; he even dabbles in banjo and pedal steel! Scott has played in countless local bands, both as a full-time member and as the guy you call to fill in in a pinch. Currently, you can find him behind the drum kit with Rockford super-group Name the Moon. His love of music led him to Rock Valley College's mass communications program, where he learned much of the knowledge he uses today when he runs live sound. However, much of his knowledge of sound equipment and music gear has come from his time as part owner of Guzzardo Performance Music; he has been there over a decade. Scott's experience has earned him countless sound engineer jobs, including Kryptonite, full-time sound for local funk band Can't Touch This, and for the last 3 years at Anderson Japanese Garden's Summer Concert Series. Scott lives above Evil Twin Recording,  he enjoys seeing live music, hanging out on the patio at the Lombardi Club, and spending time with his endlessly understanding wife, Megan; cat, Frankenstein; and dog, Elvira.

Steve's story started back in high school where he dabbled in all things music. Steve then mastered his craft at Madison Media Institute where he earned his Associates in Audio Engineering. Upon returning back to Rockford, Steve has been active in the music scene for over a decade. He is the former drummer for local bands Minotaur, Guide Our Ships, etc. Recently Steve decided to step away from the drum kit to concentrate on recording and live sound. After hearing his work at Kryptonite (formerly in downtown Rockford), it is no surprise that the local group "The Gilligans" quickly picked him to be their full-time sound engineer. With "The Gilligans", Steve has done it all! From running sound at Milwaukee's Summerfest to floating down the Rock River on a raft with the band! Steve is also a co-host, editor and engineer for the podcast Sock Monkey Sound. Steve resides in Rockford and in his spare time he enjoys reading comics, collecting Funko Pop Vinyls, listening to podcasts and spending time with his loving wife-Lisa and dog-Lacy.
